Music Ministry

Music
The goal of the music ministry is to unify God's people in praise and worship. We are striving to have a quality program which honors the Lord in every area. We do not provide music for the express purpose of drawing people in, nor do we strive to simply stimulate an emotional response from our congregation. Rather, we work, practice, sing and play together to offer the Lord our "sacrifice of praise" on behalf of the congregation.

We intend to put before the Lord the very best that we have to offer. This will attract others and our congregation will be moved as we worship together, but our audience is always the Lord. We do not seek to entertain, nor promote or glorify any individual or group.

Vocal Music
The Adult Choir has a specific purpose of leading all aspects of the music ministry at Tri-City. The choir represents the "music leaders" as pictured in 1 Chronicles, chapter 25. All those who "volunteer" to be a part of this ministry should have the commitment of one who is "appointed" to accomplish a task, and faithfully serve in that capacity. Vocal solos and ensembles come out of and are a part of the overall choir ministry.

We desire the choir ministry to be a representation of a faithful servant before the Lord. Music try-outs are not required, but faithfulness is expected. Choir rehearsals are short, but busy. Our only rehearsals during the week are on Sundays. During the early Sunday AM service, brief choir sectional rehearsals are conducted during the preaching time. The full choir rehearses on Sunday afternoons at 4:45. There are no additional time requirements during the week, other than an occasional special performance or fellowship time.

Instrumental Music
A variety of opportunities exist for all instrumentalists, including piano, keyboard and organists. Band or orchestral instrumentalists are invited to assist the congregational singing on Sunday evenings as well as prepare occasional choir accompaniments. Offertories provide numerous opportunities for individuals to serve as well.

Handbell Choir
Our three octave handbell choir rehearses each Sunday afternoon at 4:00 to prepare various selections to be presented periodically in our worship services and programs.

Kid's Choir
Kid's Choir meets during the school calendar year, meeting on Sunday afternoons at 4:45 PM. There is a variety of activities included along with basic music theory and vocal techniques in the preparing of selections which are presented during our regular church services. Special seasonal musical programs are presented two or more times per year.
